When Taking a Call

When waiting for a call, students and their eligible dependents are able to keep coverage for up to 15 months following graduation if they are working on a dissertation or waiting for a call. When accepting a new call, students should ask their new employer:
  1. Do you offer/am I eligible for early enrollment?
  2. Do you offer more than one health plan option? If so, what are my choices?
  3. How much do you, as the employer, contribute to my premiums and my dependents’ premiums?

Vicar Enrollment

Vicars are not eligible for enrollment through their LCMS employer unless they have completed all other requirements for graduation and are on their vicarage during their final year of school. Deferred, delayed and convertible vicars may be eligible for enrollment, as determined by their employer. If the employer elects to enroll the vicar, he must be enrolled in all of the plans offered at the organization.
