‘2024 State of the Concordia Plans’

The world is very different today than it was a few years ago. Concordia Plans continuously monitors the factors that impact the Plans and adjusts to help ensure their sustainability and – most importantly – support you so your ministry thrives and your workers live well.

To keep your workers well as they serve today and the Concordia Retirement Plan healthy for when they retire, CPS is making a few modifications in 2025.

  • CRP: The rate for the Traditional Option will increase by 1% of compensation each year for the next three years (2025, 2026 and 2027).
  • CHP: Millions of dollars saved from renegotiated contracts and consolidated health plan options will equate to the average CHP 2025 rate decreasing 3%*.

These changes are to keep your workers well as they serve today and keep the CRP healthy for when they retire.

The “2024 State of the Concordia Plans” report details the “why” behind the changes, the factors impacting the Plans today and how our team is navigating them to sustain our benefits for everyone we serve.

*Rates at ministries vary as they are driven by many factors including location, carrier and changes to the CHP. Your rate will be shared with you via rate renewal letter by mid-July.

How to elect your 2025 CHP option(s)


Be a benefits champion by choosing the best Concordia Health Plan options for your ministry’s healthcare coverage. You’ll be helping your workers with their health and wellness journeys because the solutions Concordia Plans offers are designed to help church workers be physically, financially and mentally well -- so they can be well to serve well. 

Before you choose benefits for your ministry, start by reviewing your 2025 Employer Renewal Notice (mailed in late June). It includes an overview of your ministry’s 2024 Concordia Plans participation, as well as a comparison of your 2024 and 2025 CHP rates. If your current health plan option is no longer offered, we’ve proactively mapped your ministry to a new CHP option that is most like your current offering. 

Learn all the details of the choices available to your ministry by reviewing overviews of all the 2025 CHP options as well as the dental and vision benefits. Once you have reviewed your options and benefits, you’ll be prepared to make your 2025 elections.
If your ministry is pleased with your 2025 CHP option(s) for medical, dental and vision, no further action is needed — your CHP option(s) will automatically renew for 2025.
If you’re thinking of offering a different or additional CHP option(s) in 2025, contact your Account Manager. His/her contact information is included on your Employer Renewal Notice or find their contact info here.

Member ID cards. To make sure CHP member ID cards are available for your workers in January, your elections must be completed no later than Sept. 13. If you want to discuss new CHP options with your Account Manager, please do so as soon as possible to ensure your elections are completed on time for your workers to participate in Member Open Enrollment Nov. 4-15. Again, if CPS does not hear from you by Sept. 13, your 2025 CHP option(s) will automatically renew.
