You’re driving along with your family when you pass a serious accident. As you drive by, you say a prayer for those involved. But the flashing lights in your mirrors make you think, “what if that was me in that accident?” Would your
family be financially OK?
Your employer provides you with Basic Life Insurance through the Concordia Disability and Survivor Plan, but it may not be enough to meet your family’s needs. Purchasing Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance can provide extra financial
help when needed most.
AD&D coverage is affordable, extra financial protection for your family to cover medical deductibles, lost wages, transportation or other expenses.
If you are involved in an accident that causes severe injuries or death, AD&D can help you and your family meet financial obligations. You’ll receive a lump-sum payment that is based on the severity of your injuries and level of coverage you choose ranging from $25,000 to $300,000.
You can elect coverage for yourself, your spouse and unmarried dependents under age 21 (or 26 if a full-time student).
You can elect AD&D coverage when you first enroll in your benefits as a new worker or during annual open enrollment through your member portal or by calling 888-927-7526.
Unfortunately no, this coverage is not portable.
For additional information on the low-cost of this coverage, the levels of benefits paid and injuries covered, please review Securian’s guide.
