Women Self-Care
Prevention, care and well-being are key components to being healthy and well. Which is why the theme of this year’s Women’s Health Week is “Women’s Health, Whole Health: Prevention, Care and Well-being.”

Quantum Health reminds us: Self-care isn’t selfish! However, 44% of women in the U.S. are managing an ongoing health condition.* It’s time for you – woman, wife, mom, daughter – to make your health a priority. You can’t take care of those you love if you’re not well. Here are a few ways to treat yourself with love, respect and kindness:

Get active: Aim for 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week, such as walking, biking, dancing or gardening.
Have regular check-ups: Visit your doctor yearly to check your weight, blood pressure and cholesterol.
Eat healthy: Fuel your body and mind with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, skinless poultry, nuts and beans.
Find your stress reliever: Watch a favorite TV show, listen to music, take a class, or connect with friends or family.

Quantum Health Care Coordinators are here to support women’s health needs. The team of nurses, benefits experts and claims specialists can help with things like:
  • Finding an in-network primary care provider and OB-GYN close to home.
  • Connecting with mental health care support.
  • Determining care gaps and ensuring you get the attention you need.
  • Setting attainable health goals to help keep you on track.

If it’s time for your mammogram or colonoscopy screening, check out Healthcare Bluebook for help finding a local, high-quality provider. Log in using access code CONCORDIA.

Additionally, this “Healthy Life Tips for Women” flyer offers valuable healthy living suggestions for women (but could apply to EVERYONE).
