Therefore encourage one another and build one another up … – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Guys, your health impacts your wife, your kids … everyone you care about and those who care about you. It’s a family concern. So, it’s important to recognize and prevent men’s health problems.

Did you know?

  • 13.8% of men 18 and older are in fair or poor health.
  • Only 28.3% of men 18 and older meet the federal physical guidelines for physical activity that includes aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity.
  • 41.6% of men 20 and older are considered obese.
  • 50.5% of men 18 or older have high blood pressure.
  • The leading cause of death for men is heart disease.

Taking time out for your health may be tough, but it’s worth it in the long run. Quantum Health has a few tips to help you start making your health a priority.

     1. Check in on your diet. Try tracking what you eat for a week to understand opportunities to incorporate more nutritious foods. Consider cutting back on alcohol or sweets and adding in healthy alternatives.

  • Evernorth Confide offers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Webcasts. Check out “Eat Well to Feel Well: Food and Your Mental Health” Wed., June 19 @ 1 p.m. CT.      2. Up your activity. Take stock of how much physical activity you do. Do you want to lose weight? Get stronger? Set small achievable goals to make it a reality.
