Last month you received communications explaining our moving from advance billing to current billing. Instead of receiving your invoice one month in advance, you will receive an invoice for the current month (e.g., a February bill is sent in February and due at the end of the month). A few key reminders as we make this transition:
Your January 2023 invoice was mailed December 2022.
You will not receive a mailed invoice in January 2023.
Your February invoice will be sent at the beginning of February 2023 and is due by the end of the month.

Continuously improving to serve you better
Change is constant, and we consider that a good thing. The staff at Concordia Plans is committed to improving how we do things so you and your ministry are taken care of, no matter the season. We understand legislative and health care complexities, as well as rising costs can be difficult to navigate, so we’re dedicated to providing our community with the right support and taking actions that benefit those we serve.
Working with best-in-class consultants. It’s important to us that we remain competitive, follow best practices, evaluate our Plans often and study different service models regularly to look for the right ways to meet the needs of our ministries and members.
Improving your experience. We’re dedicated to improving processes, procedures and customer experience based on ministry feedback to better serve our community.
Customizing your experience. We want to make doing business with us as easy as possible by providing each ministry the right level of personal service and customized support to get things done in a way that works for their organization.
Caring for you by listening to you. We reach out directly to the ministries and members we serve to ask How can we serve you better? This is one of our differentiators — we listen and respond to your needs with flexible solutions because we understand no two ministries are the same.
New legislation strengthens retirement system
At the end of 2022, President Biden signed the Secure 2.0 Act into law. The law’s passage is a positive development for American workers and employers, as it includes changes that will strengthen the retirement system.
Working with our partners in the Church Alliance, Concordia Plans advocated for the passage of Secure 2.0. Helping church workers save and be in the best financial position for retirement is critical, and we are pleased with the positive changes that will come with the legislation. This law includes some provisions that are not applicable to church-based retirement plans. Others are more complex and will take time to determine if, how and when they can be implemented within our Plans. Overall, the legislation is a collection of provisions that, while none may be labeled “momentous,” are collectively positive for Americans saving for retirement.
We will share additional updates about specific provisions of Secure 2.0 as they become available.
It’s W-2 time!
As an employer, it’s your responsibility to prepare W-2 forms and provide these documents to employees on or before Jan. 31. Additional copies must be sent to the Social Security Administration so employees' tax returns can be verified.
Here’s a snapshot of the emails we’ll send your workers this month (they may also receive additional communications from our vendors):
